Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)

Having amazing skin does not happen by accident, another of our treatments is Collagen Induction Therapy. Let's put this into perspective... Collagen is the most abundant protein found in our bodies, it is used to build and regenerate tissue. The healing properties of collagen are truly amazing - this is what forms the basis of Collagen Induction Therapy.

By employing the process of micro-needling to create channels into your skin, collagen preparations are then infused into your skin. This process ensures that the deeper layers of skin are treated and fed with the collagen enriched nutrients. Depending upon the treatment required, our team at Neo Derm will ensure that the correct Collagen preparation is used on your skin - eg. general skin rebuilding, skin lightening/darkening etc.

Your skin's natural repairing process of creating collagen will be enhanced by better quality collagen to produce tighter skin and improving the appearance of scars (acne) and wrinkles. Call us today to book in your initial skin consultation.

Treatment Suitability & FAQ's

Just like every other treatment - there are people that this treatment works for and not for others. below is a list of conditions/circumstances where the CIT treatment is unsuitable:

  • Circumstances where you have raised scarring (Keloid)
  • Where you have a history of eczems, proriasis or other inflammatory skin conditions
  • Where you may have active bacterial or have fungal infections

How is CIT done?
Using a process such as skin needling also known as micro needling, small channels are made in the skin, a collagen enriched preparation is then massaged into the skin surface and allowed to infuse into the deeper layers of your skin.
What is the downtime after the treatment?
There is very little downtime (to no downtime after this treatment) however you may experience redness of the treated area on the day of your treatment - tightness and slight sensitivity in the treated areas as well as flaky or dry skin.
When will I start seeing results?
From about the 6-8 week mark you sill start to see results and these results will continue to be effective for the next 12 months after your treatment.
What other body areas is CIT effective on?
Face, Neck, Decolletage, Hands, Abdomen, Arms and Legs.
How often will I need treatments?
For collagen and skin rejuvenation, we suggest 4-6 treatments at approximately 4 weeks apart. For scars and acne scarring, we suggest 6 or more treatments at approximately 4 weeks apart. For pigmentation issues, we suggest having treatments every 4 weeks until the pigmentation has completely disappeared.
